About Us

Welcome to the online presence of Boy Scout Troop 1989 located in Garland, TX.  We are a proud member of the Duck Creek District serving North Texas and the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Troop 1989 is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Garland, located at 930 W Avenue B, Garland, TX 75040.  We meet weekly on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  If you are interested in joining, or just want to attend one of our meetings, email us at scoutmaster@troop1989.com and we will be happy to arrange for you to get to know our troop.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.  We believe that Troop 1989 fosters leadership and sense of citizenship in every member of our organization.  Many of the troop's adult leaders are Eagle Scouts, and it is our goal to give every Scout an opportunity to learn outdoor skills first hand, obtain leadership proficiency, and feel a sense of accomplishment.  Have a peek at the attachment below entitled What Will Your Son's Future Hold? for more informaiton about the aims, methods, and values of the Scouting program.
